It’s December 12th, 2023, and 12 months ago, I took a chance on myself and launched my own podcast, the Online Creator Podcast, as a visibility tool in my business. I had always put my own podcast on hold, prioritizing my clients’ needs. But in November 2022, I decided to drop all the excuses and have fun on a platform I love. Now, a year has gone by, and I am recording episode 60 of the podcast. In this episode, I want to share with you what I have learned in this past year about podcasting as a business entrepreneur and the incredible achievements I’ve made.

Easy to Show Up and Consistency

To start off, one of my favorite things about podcasting is the fact that it’s so easy to show up. Unlike other content creation platforms that may require extensive planning and preparation, podcasting allows me to have meaningful conversations without worrying about all the technical aspects. This ease of showing up consistently has been crucial in building a loyal audience and establishing myself as an expert in my field.

Leveraging Your Voice

In every episode, I have asked my guests how they have leveraged their voice to better their business and brand. It has been fascinating to explore the different ways people have found their voice and how they are currently using it in their entrepreneurial journey. This conversation has not only provided valuable insights but has also encouraged my audience to embrace their own voice and harness its power.

Finding the Right Platform

I cannot stress enough the importance of finding a platform that aligns with your marketing strategy and allows you to show up consistently. Whether it’s podcasting, blogging, or YouTube, you need to choose a platform that brings you joy and excitement. For me, podcasting has been that perfect platform, as it allows me to share my knowledge and connect with my audience authentically. However, it’s important to remember that each platform requires time, investment, and dedication to reap the benefits.

Marketing Strategy

Podcasting has become an integral part of my marketing strategy, allowing me to show up consistently in my business week after week. It has enabled me to promote the platforms and products I love, as well as share client wins and various audio-related strategies. By leveraging podcasting as a marketing tool, you can grow your personal brand, reach a wider audience, and differentiate yourself from your competition.

Guests and Networking Opportunities

Having the opportunity to connect with incredible guests on my podcast has been a true highlight of this past year. Each guest brings unique insights and perspectives, creating a platform for learning and growth. These conversations have not only deepened my knowledge but also allowed me to develop meaningful relationships within the industry. Collaborating with like-minded individuals and expanding my network has opened new doors and led to exciting opportunities.

Monetary Reasons and Return on Investment (ROI)

While podcasting has numerous qualitative benefits, it’s essential to acknowledge the monetary value it can bring to your business. By incorporating affiliate opportunities, referral networks, collaborations, and strategic marketing, podcasting can become a source of secondary revenue. It also helps establish your expertise, attract clients, and elevate your personal brand. Monitoring your podcast’s performance, such as downloads and chart rankings, allows you to gain valuable insights into what resonates with your audience and optimize your content accordingly.

Personal Growth and Opportunities

Podcasting has not only helped in business growth but also played a significant role in my personal development. It has challenged me to hone my interviewing and public speaking skills, boosting my confidence as a speaker. Stepping out of my comfort zone and embracing podcasting as a medium has been an empowering journey, one that I encourage others to embark upon.

Exciting Opportunities in 2024

Looking towards the new year, I am thrilled to offer new ways of working with May and James Co. Apart from podcasting services, we are opening avenues in audio content library subscriptions, providing an opportunity for consistent podcast production. Additionally, we are introducing web design and development services using the website platform, Showit. This exciting new venture will enhance clients’ ability to drive traffic, effectively communicate their message, and elevate their online presence.

As I reflect on a year of podcasting, I am filled with gratitude for the incredible journey and achievements. Podcasting has allowed me to show up consistently, leverage my voice, connect with inspiring guests, and explore new avenues for growth. The monetary benefits and personal development opportunities have been invaluable. As we head into the new year, I encourage you to consider podcasting as a powerful tool to enhance your marketing strategy, build your personal brand, and achieve your business goals. Remember, the right platform awaits you; take a chance on yourself and embrace the exciting possibilities that lie ahead.
